From my earliest memories of recording onto cassette tapes with my sister at just six years old to working in commercial studios, I've always been captivated by the magic of capturing sound and hearing playback.
I honed my skills at Prairie Sun Recording, with some amazing engineers and producers on projects that still influence me to this day. My first production was with Litany for the Whale on their debut "Dolores". Around 2015 I transitioned to working independently out of home studios, and occasionally renting time in a commercial space.
Since then, I've been involved in over 40 projects, taking on roles ranging from engineering and mastering to producing, where I work closely with artists during the writing process and build a vision for the project from the ground up.
By 2024, I've worked on a vast range of musical styles. In 2020, my focus shifted to music production when recording bands became less feasible. This shift turned out to be a huge silver-lining, allowing me to work on a wider variety of music while leveraging my years of recording and mix engineer experience.
Caicedo "Un día" - This is the first single I produced and mixed for Caicedo before we began work on a full-length album. Vicco and I built this together over two days with the goal of creating an ultra-tight pop rock sound with psychedelic elements.
Julimar, Karma Rivera, Lapaushi "To Rico" - I wrote and produced this track in collaboration with a group of artists in one frantic and amazing evening. The energy in the room was incredible, and we reached a beautiful flow state, resulting in an insanely fun song and one of my most successful tracks.
Greenseeker "The Wish" - This record exemplifies my DIY leanings. I temporarily moved my studio setup into the Greenseeker house, where we recorded the album right where they practice. The goal was to produce a proto-metal album that felt like it could have been plucked straight from the 60s/70s, but with modern expectations of detail and quality.
Flood Peak "Fixed Ritual" - I recorded this album for Flood Peak in late 2019. It was one of the last recordings I did in my old basement studio. I'm really happy with how well the recording served the overall aesthetic the band aimed for.
Holy Grove "Live From The World Famous Kenton Club" - I did sound for the Ceremony of Sludge festival in Portland for a few years in the row. I was able to capture some incredible performances, and Holy Grove's performance in 2019 was fucking incredible. I'm thrilled with how well I was able to capture it.
